I’ve just received these kind words from Bella, a waitress I treated once for foot pain, 6 weeks ago.
Caitlin has been a huge help to me. Having acupuncture has been extremely helpful to me after breaking my foot, I work 50 hours a week on my feet and was in pain after returning to work, but acupuncture was an instant relief to my pain, and I have now been back at work for two weeks the pain has been extremely low, especially compared to the agony I was in after returning to work.
Bella was one of my generous volunteers when I was keen to practice my new ‘battlefield acupuncture’ skills back in March.
I’ve also had feedback this week from two other people I have treated with pain conditions.
John has a terminal diagnosis of bowel cancer. He is on regular morphine for pain relief and we were both interested to see if battlefield acupuncture could help. He was keen for his level of morphine use not to progress so he could still enjoy the things he wants to do with his life. So far John has had three sessions and has just two or three tiny needles in the ear. Not only does his immediate pain level reduce massively e.g. from a 7/10 to a 1/10 but overall he is noticing that he is using less morphine and other pain relief medication. He is also more mobile and can ‘move like a dancer’ after our sessions!
Margaret had regular acupuncture with us two months ago for sciatica. She had had this on previous occasions and was keen to to see if acupuncture could help. Within three sessions all her pain in her legs and lower back had been resolved. Over Easter she underwent bowel surgery and this seemed to trigger a reoccurence of the sciatica. She called me in agony, unable to sit or lie down. As I couldn’t treat her conventionally, lying on the couch during her acupuncture, I suggested we try the battlefield acupuncture, that only involves needling the ears. After just two needles her leg pain had gone from 7/10 to 0/10 and her lower back pain from 9/10 to 1/10. These effects lasted 5 days and allowed her to heal from the surgery and then plan for the usual body acupuncture which deals with the root of the sciatica problem.
