Acupuncture has really helped me through a tumultuous couple of years. After various injuries illnesses and several operations I was feeling very low on energy and very black of mood.I was suffering from terrible insomnia and at 49 hormonally driven mood swings.
My treatment with Caitlin was initially to help me sleep and relax. The results were verging on the miraculous. I SLEPT and gradually over the course of the next few months my mood swings stabilized and my energy levels dramatically increased.I felt human and slowly happy again as the black cloud lifted
Talking through issues with Caitlin (it’s not just about the needles) helped me look at myself as a whole and gradually begin to heal. I can’t thank her enough.
I contacted Caitlin as I was suffering from very bad post natal depression and OCD. I had been on tablets before and didn’t want to return to this route of treatment.
I initially saw her for weekly treatments, which reduced to monthly treatments as I got better. I found the acupuncture really helped from the first session, leaving me calmer and able to deal with situations in a much more logical manner. As a result of this my OCD also improved.
As the sessions progressed I found that I wasn’t suffering from the depression any more and was talking to Caitlin about the great things that had happened rather than the bad things (as I simply couldn’t think of any!). My friends and family have also commented on my improved mood and way of dealing with things since having the treatment.
Caitlin is not only a great acupuncturist, but a great listener – I felt I could tell her anything from that very first session. I decided to stop having sessions at the start of July as I felt my life was back on track, but its great to know Caitlin is there if I need a top up session in the future.
I work in a high pressure environment and had been suffering for some time with work related stress and anxiety – I just couldn’t ’switch off’ and relax – and it was really wearing me down.
Caitlin had been recommended by a work colleague and it had got to the point where I felt I had to do something about the problems I was facing.
In the initial consultation, it felt great to get the problems on the table and after my first session I felt the benefits almost immediately. Although I wouldn’t say I was sceptical, I didn’t expect to feel so different, so quickly. It was a real result.
After just a few weeks treatment, I can safely say I felt like a different person. I was finding it much easier to chill out and not bring work anxieties home with me. I also found it much easier to deal with the day to day pressure and overall, I felt more ‘balanced’ as a person.
I have also received treatment along the way for hay fever and tennis elbow- both of which have responded really well to the acupuncture.
Although I am not good around needles, my experience of acupuncture with Caitlin couldn’t be further from that – the treatment is relaxing and I really look forward to the next session as a real ‘time out’ from the real world.
I would definitely recommend Caitlin to anyone thinking about alternative treatment – it’s definitely made a big difference to my life.
I don’t think it’s overstating the experience for me if I say that consulting Caitlin has turned my life around.
I approached her first in the aftermath of bereavement feeling rather fragile, and seeking help with deepening feelings of anxiety, stress, low energy levels, and the unpleasant side effects of medication. Her holistic approach to physical and mental health and well-being has been more far-reaching and healing for me than this.
Patiently, over several months, she not only focused on these problems but also listened to me, and encouraged me to unfold and address other issues, ones lower down my list of priorities at that time (some, like losing a stone in weight, proved an unexpected bonus). By helping me see how the physical and emotional work together, Caitlin has brought a real sense of balance back into my life and encouraged me to move forward with confidence.
For the past ten years or so I have experienced infrequent panic attacks, perhaps a couple of times a year when I was away from home or in confined spaces. However, one never did follow another and so as a consequence they were easy to forget and recover from. The situation changed when I was about three months pregnant. I started to experience frequent panic attacks at home and in public places and to be honest I thought I was losing my mind. I spoke to my GP but she was unable to help or prescribe any medication as I was pregnant. I felt desperate until I spoke to Caitlin.
Her calm, professional and expert approach immediately made me feel as though I could get back to ‘normal’ . She said she was fairly confident acupuncture may make a difference. This was a lifeline to me and within five or six sessions my panic attacks ceased and my anxiety levels decreased significantly. I am grateful that I did not compromise my pregnancy by taking any prescribed medication.
The acupuncture was pain free, relaxing and most importantly it worked.
